A/Prof David Connell
A/Prof David Connell, MBBS, MMed, FRANZCR, FFSEM (UK), is a musculoskeletal radiologist and Managing Director at Imaging Olympic Park, Melbourne.
He is an Assoc Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Monash University, and also in The Faculty of Sports Medicine and Research at La Trobe University. David is recognized as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, tendon repair and osteoarthritis. He has authored 115 publications, including book chapters, and has received research funding for several million dollars (including 3 NHMRC grants). He has been an invited speaker to major meetings in 19 different countries.
David is the past president of the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group, sits on the editorial board of 5 journals, and past examiner for the RANZCR. He acts as a supervisor for musculoskeletal fellowships and PhD candidates. He is also an elected fellow to the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine (UK). A/Prof Connell was a radiologist at the Sydney and London Olympic Games, and he has a long history of imaging and treating elite athletes in New York, London and Australia.
Dr Tim Dickson
Tim has worked as a specialist musculoskeletal radiologist in private practice in Melbourne after training at the Alfred Hospital and completing a fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional MSK radiology in 2016.
He is currently the president of the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (AMSIG), the peak reference group for MSK imaging in Australia and prior to this, was treasurer and co-convenor of the AMSIG ASM hosted in Melbourne 2017.
Tim is a respected diagnostic and interventional radiologist who is experienced in sports, spinal, rheumatology and tumour imaging as well as the breadth of image guided intervention and pain management procedures including radiofrequency ablation, offered at I@OP.
He is a keen and able teacher who was previously director of training for final year radiology registrars in his previous job and is the Clinical Director of I@OP and the DPC.
Outside of work, Tim is married with two young boys, runs a farm, enjoys cooking, music, going to the gym and watching all kinds of sport.
Dr Chris Lawson
Chris graduated from Medical School in 2012, and completed Radiology training at Royal Melbourne Hospital. He completed a fellowship at Melbourne Radiology Clinic, a specialist pain management and musculoskeletal clinic and underwent further training in his area of interest in Radiofrequency Ablation in Queensland.
Chris has advanced skills in musculoskeletal imaging including MRI and over 25 years experience in ultrasound. His emphasis has been on interventional musculoskeletal radiology using regional nerve blocks for specialised procedures. Chris’s interest in musculoskeletal imaging has been a natural progression from competing in Athletics at a National and International level.
Chris works closely with referrers to ensure best possible care and outcomes for his patients.
